In my opinion, there are two words " get" and "become" can be used to express something change gradually. Such as, the weather is getting warm. Today I read a sentence as follows: right? Could you please tell me If I can say as follows:
1) The weather is growing warm.
2) Both of us got exhausted.

In general, get, become and grow can be used for similar purposes such as to get older, grow older or grow fatter, become fatter.
However, it quite unatural to say 'grew exhausted". To become or just to be exhausted are better alternatives.
