editorIf you analyse your writing for grammatical errors or ask a native English speaker to check your documents for you, you’ll probably find that up to 90% of the grammatical errors you make are common ones. And by common errors, I’m referring to the most typical types of errors made by both native and non-native speakers.

In our Common Errors Section, we focus almost entirely on the 30 most common errors that writers make. We don’t cover obscure errors because this isn’t of interest to most learners. And most learners don’t make many obscure errors.

If you are aware of the errors that you make in your writing, this will help you to 1) focus on and identify these errors when you proofread your documents, and 2) plan your learning so you can avoid making such errors.
