Global trade is one of the most important parts of the global economy and how countries decide on and negotiate trade affects millions of people every day and is the very heart of the globalized world. There are two different kinds of focal points when we consider the language of trade. The first area has to do with very practical vocabulary that people who do the actual importing and exporting have to know. Later, we will deal with the more advanced language of trade: finance.
First, though, let’s start with trade “on the ground.”
