Opec, the oil producer’s group, says there is enough oil to meet the current demand and blames the weak US dollar and speculators for the high price of oil. But critics disagree and say Opec countries are not releasing enough oil. Opec also believes that years of low oil prices have led to an under-investment in the industry.
