intranetThe new Corporate Intranet Version is a major upgrade and incorporates the re-design of the online version of  Workplace English Training E-Platform, including the whole Learning Centre, 54 volumes of Workplace English Training E-Magazine, Job-Specific Learning Maps and The Language Key Magazine archive.

The new version has external links to daily and weekly online content updates as well as the Student Helpline.

The main advantages of installing the Intranet Version on your company’s intranet server are:

  • Fast loading of pages and content
  • No login

Clients will be able to receive on-demand staff usage statistics for any online usage; however, they will need to maintain their own usage statistics for any intranet access.

Subscribing to the Corporate Intranet Version

Clients who subscribe to our corporate subscription programme (option 2) will be mailed the Corporate Intranet Version of Worplace English Training E-Platform on DVD.

The DVD contains one compressed RAR file which you need to copy to your company's computer hard drive and set up from there. The file size is 3.03gb and includes all the learning content from the website.

Copy the file to a folder on your hard drive and follow the set up instructions in the Set Up Guide which you can download by clicking on the link below.

  • You will need Adobe Reader to open this file

Customizing the Index Page

The index.htm page of the intranet version has the following standard welcome text:

Workplace English Training E-Platform is installed on the company's intranet server. You can access the learning content directly by clicking on the 'Learning Centre' link.

To access additional and newly-published content, click on 'Resources.' Following any of the sub-menu links will take you to the website of Workplace English Training E-Platform. You will need to be connected to the Internet to access this website.

To access the 'Learning Paths' and 'Business English Courses' modules you will need to visit the website.

To post a question about learning English, click on 'Student Helpline.' This is also an external link.

Please make sure you have the correct software to use all areas of the E-Platform. Click on the 'Downloads' link to find out which software you need. All the necessary software is free and can be downloaded from the internet. Just follow the relevant links.

The E-Platform is available by annual corporate subscription. With a corporate subscription, all staff locally or regionally can access the platform anywhere, anytime.
