What type of resources can I upload? WETE is a business English platform. All uploaded resources should concern business English learning or teaching, or English for specific purposes such as medical English, engineering English, aviation English, etc.
Please visit the repository resources page to see the specific types of resources you can upload. Resources can be long or short (within reason) provided that they are of an acceptable quality (to be determined by the site moderator).
You can upload all the most common file types, e.g. doc, docx, pdf, mpeg, swf, avi, rtf
The moderator first checks the uploaded resource to ensure that it is relevant and meets our minimum standards. If the resource is acceptable, the moderator ensures that the resource has been correctly categorised and described. When the moderator approves a resource, an email is automatically sent to the user and 4 points will be automatically added to the user's download points balance (only applies to users with individual subscriber accounts). If the resource is deemed irrelevant or does not meet our minimum standards of quality, it will not be accepted. The user will then be sent an automatic email stating this and suggesting that the resource be improved before being re-submitted.
Yes, you can make a resource request in the Teacher’s Forum. Do this from the section in the Forum called “Request a Resource.” We encourage teachers to help each other out with requests for resources.
No. We have not added any complete courses to the repository. However, you are free to combine resources to create your own courses. Just remember to include the copyright notice in the footer of all documents and the WETE intro in all audio files.
Users can rate any of the resources in the repository. To rate a resource, click on the stars above the download button. You can rate a resource from 1 to 10 stars. Each resource is given a rating score, calculated as the average of all scores given. Rating scores will help users select appropriate resources and therefore maximise their download points.
This depends on your subscription type. If you haven’t purchased a subscription giving access to both the Teacher’s Area and the Student’s Area, please visit the subscription page to upgrade your subscription. If you have a sub-account through a school or educational institution or consultancy, you will have automatic access to the Student’s Area using the same login details.
Members having an multi-group subscription have unlimited access to the resources in the repository. Individual members start with100 download points, use 1 point per download and gain 4 points per successful upload.
